The Challenge

Plenty of Bronx businesses have no website at all, and the big national directories bury them under paid placement and outdated listings. Local customers searching for a plumber, a salon, or a caterer often can't find the small businesses right around the corner. The challenge: build a directory that's genuinely useful for both sides — easy for customers to search, and simple for business owners to claim and manage their own listing.

What I Built

I'm designing EdgeListings around how people actually search locally: clean categories, search, and featured listings that highlight standouts without burying everyone else. Business owners get a self-serve flow to claim their listing, add photos, hours, and services, and upgrade to featured placement — no technical knowledge needed. Built mobile-first, since nearly all local searches happen on a phone.
